My dear Mr. Freer,

Many thanks for your kind letter of 12 Dec. and for the pretty Xmas card. I hope you will have good health and strength during this year and that I may have the pleasure of seeing you. 

I quite appreciate your reasons for not troubling about further Japanese paintings and with your wonderful collection can hardly wish for more and in any case I need not have troubled you as Mr. Angel is now uncertain whether he will sell his few pictures. 

I have been to more auction sales
