I have had a great many Teshin lacquer & paintings offered but very few passed the critical judgment of Mr. Imaizumi of the Imperial Museum. However I have managed to get a few paintings including a lovely lacquer one and a few lacquer objects (Inro & sake cups) so that I have now quite enough examples of the artist.

I was much interested in reading of the proposed School of Archeology in China and the sooner done the better as I fear many treasure are being dispersed which ought to be retained by the nation and others declared & listed. But China is in such a curious state that those who have been longest in the country are absolutely unable to give any opinion as to what is to be. I still hold to my own idea, which is that North & South will never mix.
