which was returned by W. H. Rock. Dec. 31. 1866 indorsed as follows:-
 
"Respectfully returned with the information that the plantation within named is in Brazoria Co. and one mile from Areto Station. It would be a ride of 34 or 35 miles on horse back for me whilst the Sub. Asst. Comr. at Columbus could go direct on the cars to Areto Station and therefore be but one mile of said place.
That the warrants or writs for the arrest of the within named parties were not issued from this County and must therefore have been issued in Brazoria County."
