Clarke of Trinity Co, would state I have been compelled to write Mr C. in quite a sharp manne in order to elicit an answer, The statement herein made in reference to the seizure of cotton by the bureau, I am inclined to doubt, his conduct towards the freedpeople is represented as being very bad, and the Co in which he is a resident is characterized by the most brutal treatment of freedpeople. In the event of the statement regarding the seizure of cotton being true, I would ask that the sum of $43.00 specie the property of F. M.
