Which was returned by Capt. N.H. Randlett S.A.C. dated Anderson Texas. Oct. 26 1867 with a statement substantially as follows. 
"That in 1865. complaint was made by Daniel and Stephen Walker that L. Halliday had neglected and refused to pay them, issued air order requiring him to appear at his office, reported at the time appointed, without witnesses, adjourned the trial Halliday observing as he left the office. that if he was not present at the time appointed, he should be satisfied with the decision. He did not appear at the trial and the case was decided against him in default of his appearance. He appealed to Gen. Kiddoo, but the decision was approved,"
