All schools must be self sustaining until some further provisions are made. The rent of school buildings will be paid as usual, but no teacher can be hired by the Bureau.

Respectfully returned to Bvt Brig Gen S.D. Sturgis Sub Asst Com for his action. He will investigate the claim of Maria Butler giving both parties viz Maria Butler & Mrs. Irwin a hearing. If the claim is in his opinion just he is authorized by law and is hereby directed to secure payments to Maria Butler in whatever manner may in his judgement prove must effective. The property of Mrs. Irwin shall be held liable for the claim if decided in favor of Maria Butler.
