as a token or in recognition of American Scholarship, and I hope it may eventually find a home at Ann Arbor. If a few public spirited men can be influenced to join in the enterprise I will cheerfully give one-tenth towards defraying the cost of the bust whatever it may be. In other words, I will cheerfully be one of ten to furnish the necessary funds.

I return herewith, the letters from Messrs. Carter and Pollak, together with my thanks for your courtesy in having called my attention to the matter.

I have already received letters from several of the gentlemen to whom you sent photographs of the Biblical MSS, and in a day or two I shall take pleasure in sending them on for your perusal.
