Dear Sir:-

Let me first apologize for having not written to you Since you left Shanghai. I have been very busy Since the civil war broke out, in our country, I hope that it will be settled very soon. But the scenes of Shanghai are same as before. I am not going to tell you in detail about the war affairs, as I believe that you have been informed better by reading the papers.

I was told the other day that your country will be the first to recognize The Chinese Republic & I am sure that our people are very much pleased & thankful. The friendship between your country & ours will surely be the most intimate & closer
