Mr. Pang: -2-

I am reminded of you and your kindness to me while in China all most daily and I have great pleasure in looking at the splendid paintings which you helped me to secure.

I suppose that the war interfered very much with your business and it must have caused you much sorrow, but I hope that the worst is over and that peace will soon be completely restored.

I hope that you continue your interest in collecting old paintings and other specimens of ancient Chinese Art and I often wonder if the war is causing many of the native collectors to dispose of their treasures.

Whenever I visit China again, I shall hope to see you and will of course, send you word in advance of my arrival.

Hoping to see you in America sometime, and trusting that your health remains excellent, I remain,
Very sincerely yours,
