to start a campaign. I preferred to have the whole collection sent to New York in bond - and I shall try to get it through on my arrival in New York some time in May.  I believe it will be an error or mistake there - because in the San Francisco customs (they said) there was no "expert" on Chinese art - nor would they accept an outsider as an "expert."

It has been a very annoying affair but such is the condition of Mrs Pecorini's health, and my anxiety over it that the jade question passed in second line. I am very obliged to you for your remarks on the subject and I shall avail myself of your advise in New York.

Mrs Pecorini is not improving yet, however there is no falling in her conditions and I am living in hopes that the climate of Pasadena will help her more than the sundry Doctors & medicines. We are going to have a bungalow by the end of the month and we will feel much better having a "home". Just now I feel most miserable Mrs Pecorini being in the Hospital!

Chinese Magazines. I am sending these as a Parcel Post today with but 2 sheet of translation. I am sure the other sheet will turn up in time - and I shall forward them to you when they appear -
