My dear Mr. Freer:-

Except for the anxiety we all naturally felt for you on Tuesday afternoon; and that your indisposition prevented our guests meeting you, the time passed all too swiftly, because so wonderfully filled - for all of us. Both Mr. and Mrs. Elliott left most cordial regards, and unbounded gratitude for the happiness given them by all they saw. I do not think I ever met anyone more appreciative than they were, and it was indeed a great treat for all of us.

Mr. Elliott was present at the Marseilles[[?]] Memorial meeting at West Point some years ago, where she said she had the pleasure of a few words with you and therefore shared her husband's regret in not receiving the
