My dear Mr. Freer:

I write to profer, once more, what seems to be our "Annual" request - namely, to permit the members of the Society of Arts and Crafts to visit your galleries and collections. As the memgership has grown, so has the trouble you yourself and those who have, in the past, combined to make the visit so enjoyable. But that the courtesy is appreciated, and more heartily, and asked for by old and new members, again and again, never doubt for an instant. The question must be, can you undertake to receive so many, with ever-growing fresh requests?

It has seemed to me, when, as at present, so many terrific destructive forces are at work in Europe, when, as a result, the majority of our
