Dear Mr. Glaenzer:-
I reached New York late Thursday evening last, and left there at 3:40 on Saturday afternoon. During my little journey I took a very severe cold, and was compelled to spend the most of my time in my room at the Plaza Hotel, so I did not find it possible to call upon you as I had hoped to do.

Am sorry to have missed seeing you, and am particularly disappointed in my inability to join your dinner party on the 13th, inst.

Believe me,
Yours faithfully,
Charles L Freer
