Dear Doctor Walcott:-
On my return from New York, I find your favor of January 7th, and I take pleasure in enclosing herewith, draft payable to your Institution for $9.45, to refund the expenditures made on the cases of pottery which you so kindly attended to for me during last summer. I appreciate, very much indeed, the courtesy shown me in this matter by yourself and your associates, and I have taken the liberty of ordering sent in your care, another shipment of two or three cases which are likely to arrive some time during the present month. These cases contain pottery which I have purchased by correspondence since my return from Asia Minor, and, I hope, they will not cause any inconvenience in your Institution.
 
I have an item of good news which I must tell you. Some four or five years ago, Mr. T. W. Dewing painted especially for his artist friend, D. W. Tryon, a very important picture which is called " The Garland."  During my recent visit to New York, Messrs Dewing, Tryon and myself were discussing in a very friendly way, this beautiful work and before little meeting broke up Mr. Tryon offered to add the picture to the group of Mr. Dewing's work which I have
