33 Ferry Avenue, East,
Detroit, Michigan,
January 22nd, 1909.

My dear Mr. Albright:-

Your kind letter of the 21st of this month containing your check for $2.50, covering the long distance message, came to-day, and I thank you for both. Of course, the little charge for the message is only a trifle, but, I know, just how you feel on the matter, so I accept the check without objection.

The visit of your party gave me great pleasure, and, I hope, that some time in the future I may be favored with another of the same interest and charm. Things of beauty should always be shared with appreciative friends.

Yes, Mr. Morgan has entered the field with vigor, and I suppose hereafter, the " small fry " will have to " go back and sit down."

Of the things wanted by me in the von Sternburg sale, I succeeded in getting just half my desires - a good average, considering the competition. Sir William Van Horne got the other half, but of this I am glad, because, he does obtain much pleasure from his Oriental things.

Some time in the future, I hope, indeed, to spend a day or two with you at Buffalo, but I am afraid the pressure of work here will compel me to postpone it until another winter.

Believe me, with kindest regards,
Very sincerely, yours,
Charles L Freer

J.J. Albright, Esq.,
Buffalo, N.Y.
