Mr. Vitali Madjar,
Post Box 297,
Cairo,
Egypt.

Dear Mr. Madjar:-

Your good letter of January 8th, is received, quoting the prices asked, for the various Tiles. Your letter also states, that in order that I may know the quality of the Tiles, you have sent a small fragment through the post, declaring it at the value of one pound. This fragment has not yet been received and I very much fear it may have been either lost in the mail, or held up in the Custom House in New York. If it had been sent by American Express, it would have come safely, but I fear, very much, that the fragment will never come to hand and this I regret, because, without it, or photographs of the Tiles, I cannot tell what they are like. Can you not have photographs made of one of the six Tiles valued at 750 pounds, and one of the six star-shaped Tiles valued at 120 pounds, for the lot? With these photographs before me, I can, I think, judge quite accurately as to whether the Tiles would interest me sufficiently to purchase them.

Believe me, with kind regards,

Yours very sincerely,

Charles L. Freer
