My dear Doctor Allen:-

In future answer to your valued letter of January 29th, I am glad to say, that yesterday I found time to examine carefully, Mr. dePlancy's list of his Korean collection, and, I am now wondering, if you can and will help me to secure from Mr. dePlancy, additional information.

I would particularly enjoy further light concerning the subjects of the " 46 Chinese and Japanese kakemonos." I would like to know whether there are many ancient Chinese pictures in the lot, that is, if any considerable number of them date back to the Sung and Yuen periods?  Mr. dePlancy also mentions " 44 pictures - 139 small ones, some large and small mats with colored designs " I would like information concerning these items, stating subjects, and whether ancient hand-painted, printed, or in what medium?  The specimens of worked stone - marble, granite, jade, amber, rock-crystal, etc., are 20 in number."  I would like a brief description of what these twenty pieces represent, that is, whether, tablets with inscriptions, or figures, together with the size and approximate age of each piece.

I feel, that the other items mentioned in Mr. dePlancy's list I have a fair understanding of, and if the formation herein asked
