Dear Mr. Ushikubo:-

I am sending you, under separate cover, a coral necklace which came from China about thirty years ago. It is the property of an acquaintance of mine who wishes to know its value, and I have agreed to ascertain this fact for her. I fancy, that yourself and Mr. S. Yamanaka would be the best judges, and, if it is not troubling you too much, I would thank you to let me know what it is worth. It is not for-sale, but the owner wishes to know its value.

Thanking you in advance for whatever information you can give me on the subject, I remain,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer

P.S. Kindly return the necklace to me when you have finished its examination.
