February 13th, 1909.

My dear Professor Kelsey:-
Your kind letter of the 8th, inst., was duly received.

A copy of the Detroit News, containing the so-called interview with you was handed to me, and after reading the same, I promptly determined that the article was the outcome of the imagination of some irresponsible reporter, so I paid practically no attention to it. Things of this same nature frequently occur, in fact, so frequently, that even the casual reader can nine times out of ten, recognize the truth when he sees it.

I am looking forward, with pleasure, to seeing you here some time in the future, when it will be entirely convenient for you to come in. This week, I am much engaged with some experimental work with the Lumeire Colored Photograph process - experts are here from England and New York, and we are hoping to photograph in color, some of Whistler's most illusive painting. The work is very difficult and will, I fancy, [[strikethrough]] it will [[/strikethrough]] run well into next week so, I think, it would be wiser for you and I to meet some day, week after next, when we can discuss the binding and other matters without interruption.

Believe me, with kind regards,
Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
