c/o Yamauaka & Company,

New York City, N.Y.

My dear Mr. Ushikubo:-
I have recently bought from Mr. Elihu Vedder, the American artist, who has been living in Rome for a great many years, an ancient Greek vase, found on the island of Rhodes. The Vase has been on exhibition in the Metropolitan Museum for some months and is in charge of Mr. Lloyd Taylor #127 West 56th, Street, New York City. Mr. Taylor represents Mr. Vedder, and I have written him that if he has no facilities for shipping the Vace to take it to your store and that you would pack and forward it to me. It is a valuable specimen and I am anxious to protect it from breakage, and I know, that you will cheerfully pack and forward it to me. Now, you must not prepay the express charges and you must let me reimburse you for the box and packing.
I am [[/strikethrough]]having[[/strikethrough]] enjoying a careful examination of the Corean pottery recently received from you, and hope to finish the work some day this week, after which, I will let you know which, (if any) of the pieces, are to be returned: and will also, at the same time, remit for those retained.
With kind regards, I remain,
Yours very sincerely,
Charles L. Freer
