Dr. Walcott -

I am glad to know of the recent gift of a portrait of Admiral Melville; it is only a question of a little time, when gifts will flow in abundantly.

Yes, the potteries from the Nearer East, which you are so kindly aiding me to add to my collection, are very important additions to our collection. The majority of the specimens are really extraordinarily beautiful and rare; they are all the fruit of my trip to Syria made last summer, and I am sure, that when you see them they will delight you.

With kind regards,

Sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
