Mr. W. Taylor Day,
Great Barrington,
Mass.
Dear Sir:-
Referring to your letter of February 26th. I have communicated with Mr. Carson, my farmer, and enclose herein a copy of his letter which is sent for your information. I also enclose, copy of a letter received from Mr. Murphy dated March 5th, and a copy of my reply sent to Mr. Murphy in to-day's mail. You will observe that the statements made by Mr. Carson and Mr. Murphy differ materially and I really do not know which one to believe. My instructions however, to Mr. Carson, were to employ no one on my farm for my account after November 1st, and I had supposed that my instructions were obeyed until the receipt of your letter. I have written Mr. Carson to-day, telling him that I wish an early adjustment of this difference and have advised him to see either you or Mr. Murphy, and if possible to settle the matter in an amicable and just way.
Believe me,
Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
