SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION
WASHINGTON

March 26, 1906.

My dear Mr. Freer:

I beg that you will accept my apologies for not having replied to your letters of the 13th instant, due to the amount of work following the death of Mr. Langley, I am just taking the matter up with the Chancellor of the Institution (The Chief Justice), and have been certain all along that your suggestions would meet with his approval. I will write again and officially as soon as I have his instructions.

With my best respects, believe me,

Very truly yours,
Richard Rathbun

Charles L. Freer, Esquire,
