We, the undersigned, Officers for Grimes County, respectfully recommend the appointment of R.H. Bassett Esq as agent for the Freedmans Bureau for this county.

Mr. B. has been a citizen of this county for several years and is thoroughly acquainted with the varied interest of the people, beside; he is a man of integrity and business qualifications, and we feel no hesitancy in saying that, he will do full justice to the position if appointed.
