I herein enclose you a petition to General Gregory, "Superintendent of the Freedmens Bureau" for this state; which you will please do me the favor to present to him if he has arrived in your city; should he not have arrived there, retain it until his arrival, and present
it to him. Please give me any assistance you can in the matter and write me on the subject after you have presented the petition and greatly oblige
