issue in Texas was about a man who is no longer in connection with the school work; inasmuch as I have no man who could continue the work so well begun in Texas one-half as usefully as Mr. Allen, and especially in view of General Reynolds' accession to command, I have respectfully to ask the re-appointment of Mr Allen to the office he lately held. If this appointment can be made, the Secretaries of the A.M.A. will be glad to renew the school work in Texas with vigor.

I have the honor to be,
General,
Your Obdt Serv't,
J.R. Shipherd
Secretary.
