Colonel:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your esteemed favor of the 17th Oct'r's 1867, in which you inform us that Mr. E. M. Harris Bureau Agent at this place had been called on for a report of his illegal and, -as we consider,- outrageous conduct in the matter of the seizure of property under Deed of Trust when it was about to be sold to satisfy a just debt. Referring to our communication of October 8", 1867. We beg leave Colonel to invite your attention once more to this matter. We are credibly informed that Mr. Harris expresses some surprise that he has never been called on for a report. We respectfully ask you to read our letter of the 8" Oct.r once more carefully.
