Walker The State of Texas Colorado County Before me, Edward Collier, a Notary Public in & for Colorado County, Texas; this day personally came & appeared A.C. Burford, to me well known & made oath that he was well acquainted with the former slaves of Dr. John H. Crisp during A.D. 1865; & that many of said former slaves, told affiant that the contract stated in the affidavit of James L. Walker, above written, (I having read said affidavit) was the contract made & entered into by, & between said Dr. J.H. Crisp & said former slaves. Sworn & subscribed to, before me; to all of which I hereby certify under my hand & Notarial seal of office. Done at my office in the Town of Columbus, said State & county.
