I called upon Lt. Lowrie to assist me in not being taken from the House. He arose from his chair when Mr. Pior leveled his gun on him remarking if you raise a hand I will shoot you dead.

Mr. Darly finally told me as all remonstrance seemed unavailing that I had better go with them, which I finally did, they pulling me out of the door. I here pulled out my purse and gave it to Mr. Darly to hand to my daughter when she recovered, and requested them then not to kill me in hearing or sight of Mrs. Darly & my Daughter to which they consented. 

They then proceeded with me in the direction of Trinity river some 3 miles distant. Here in a
