I came down in the Comargo St'r yesterday my object being to seek some assistance from you as I can get no justice in Columbia, I am an English subject by birth but American by adoption professionally a Silversmith

On the 13th inst an assault with intent to kill was committed on me by. Joe. Stringfellow, C. Stringfellow and one Phillip.E. Hill all of Columbia all a gang of desperado's who care neither for Law or Authority
