1 Lt S. C. Plummer
Comd'g Post Prairie Lea

Dear Sir,
The undersigned after a thorough consideration of the subject, would earnestly recommend that Dr. H.G. Parker - who is now under arrest in your camp, charged with swindling freedmen,- be given thirty days in which to adjust and settle up the difference existing between himself and various freedmen residing in this vicinity; We believing that in that time, he will settle up the claims which the freedmen have brought to your attention, and will give satisfactory evidence of upright and honest intentions in regard to these debts.

Respectfully your
Obdt Svt,
Sgd. A H Longley
Late Major 1 Texas (US) Cavalry
Sgd. John MacKey

Maj. Longley also upon my issuing the circular signed the following obligation,
