of knowledge has been taken away; & deeply feeling that the debt we owe them for their past privations & mental darkness is that but poorly paid.  While adults can generally do no more for an education, we certainly can wish to do no less for their welfare & duty to fit them for a suitable discharge of the duties of life, to aid them in reading in their own tongue, the revelation of God's word, which teaches the only way of salvation for lost men.
Several persons have repeatedly visited the school, besides such as have called but on coming from abroad.  The school have been interested & profited, as well as encouraged in their efforts by the occasional remarks of visitors.  A survey of the past labors of a year & three quarters, leads us to thank God & take courage.
