Point Pleasant - At this place, the citizens and freedmen are about to put up a school house, with the understanding that they are to receive $200 from the Bureau. I shall assist them about the 25th inst., and will immediately report details.

General Remarks - In my judgement, the future existence and utility of these schools depends very much upon on the erection of the houses this year. It is doubtful whether some of these Boards will find it convenient to build any school house for freedmen, for some years to come. And the number of scholars who will attend school, will probably be very much less with the present lack of accommodations, than would otherwise be the case. The erection of new houses would be a great stimulus to the freedmen, and they would undoubtedly sustain schools by subscription,
