CABLE ADDRESS
"ALBGAL BUFFALO"

September 23, 1918.

Mr. Charles L. Freer,
33 Ferry Avenue, East,
Detroit, Michigan.

Dear Mr. Freer: -

I thank you with all my heart for lending me your beautiful Ryder, "The Red Cow". I never can express to you how grateful I am and how much this masterpiece assisted in making my American Exhibition a success.

I had two long walls of Ryder's works and your "Red Cow" held a very prominent place. The pictures all hung in a single line and were grouped as well as my limited power of hanging permitted. I trust that the catalogue and the pictures mentioned therein pleased you; I tried to have the Exhibition on a good one.

The Ryder was shipped to James E. Hanna and Bros., on Wednesday afternoon, September 18th, by American Express, to be delivered to you and I do trust that it will reach you safely and in good order. We guarded it carefully during the summer, tried to pack it to the best of our ability and insured it by Woodworth-Hawley Company of Buffalo.

Again, dear friend, I thank you with all my heart. I have been intending to write you personally for some time, in fact, I intended to do so before I left on my vacation but I was quite ill, was overworked and had a sharp attack of appendicitis. However, my good husband took splendid care of me and now I am rested and absolutely in good health, better than for a long time past. I am going to write you soon and tell you all my interests and pleasures and what the prayers to Buddha have done for me. With dear greetings and all kinds of messages, and hoping I can see you soon and assuring you I am going to send you a personal letter in the very near future., I am

Devotedly and sincerely and great appreciation,
