   I. Paragraph III Special Orders No 5. C.S. from these Headquarters, is hereby revoked.
   II.  D.T. Allen, Assistant SUpt. of Schools, Bureau R.F. and A.L., State of Texas, will proceed to Houston, Hempstead, Chappell Hill, Brenham, Navasota, and Millican, Texas, for the purpose of examinng and organizing schools for Freedmen at these points; upon the completion of which, he will return to these Headquarters.
   III.  Byron Porter, (late Capt. U.S. Vols.) Agent of this Bureau, is hereby ordered to Columbus, LaGrange, and Bastrop, Texas, for the purpose of inspecting the condition of affairs pertaining to this Bureau, at these points; upon the completion of which he will proceed to Austin, Texas, and resume his duties as Sub Asst. Commissioner, Bureau R.F. and A.L., at that Post, making a report to these Headquarters, of the result of such inspection.
   IV.  A.M. Sperry, Agent of this Bureau, will accompany the Asst. Commissioner upon his visit to Brazonia, Fort Bend, Wharton, and Colorado Counties, in this State, returning with him to these Headquarters.

   I.  J.M. Barbour is hereby appointed an Agent of this Bureau, under the 3d Section of Bureau Law passed July 16, 1866, at a salary of one hundred dollars per month, and is assigned to duty as Sub Asst Commissioner at Matagorda, Matagorda County, Texas.
   Mr. Barbour will at once enter upon the discharge of his duties as required by laws and the regulations of this Bureau.
