I. Mr. Samuel Claire, Teacher of Freedmen's School, will at once proceed to Liberty, Liberty County_ Texas, and report to A. H. Mayer, Sub Assistant Commissioner at that place, for duty as Teacher at Double Bayou_

The Quartermaster's Department will furnish the necessary transportation_

I. 1st Lieut. J. C. De Gress, 9th U.S. Cavalry, having reported at these Head Quarters, in compliance with Paragraph I. Special Orders, No. 147_ dated Head Quarters, District of Texas, Aug. 5" 1867_ is hereby assigned to duty as Assistant Sub Assistant Commissioner, at Henderson, Rusk County_

He will at once proceed to his station and assume the duties of his office, in accordance with the Acts of Congress and the Regulations governing_ reporting to 1st Lieut. A. G. Malloy, Sub Assistant Commissioner at Marshall, Texas. 

The Quartermaster's Department will furnish the necessary transportation_

II. 2nd Lieut. Charles Garretson, 17" U.S. Infantry Acting Ass't Quartermaster and Disbursing officer, Bu. R.F. and A.L, State of Texas, will proceed without delay to San Antonio, Texas, under Special instructions; upon compliance with which he will return to these Head Quarters_

III. 2nd Lieut. Alfred F. Manning, V.R.C. having been mustered out and discharged the service of the United States, per Paragraph III. Special Orders, No. 377_ current series, War Department, Adjutant General's Office, is hereby relieved from further duty in this Bureau, to date August 1" 1867_
