Detroit Athletic Club,
Detroit, Mich.

Gentleman:-
I am in receipt of the enclosed bill against Mr. Frank C. Hecker for his dues to the Detroit Athletic Club for the half year ending March 31st, 1897, $10.00. Mr. Hecker has been out of the city for the past four or five months and will probably be absent about a year.
Will you do me the favor to advise me if it is customary to collect dues from absent members? If it is not customary, I presume it will be agreeable to you to cancel the enclosed bill.
Awaiting your early reply, I am,
Your truly,
H A B Aikman
