Dear Mr. Freer: I am sending you a photograph of the beautiful door-way of the Poe Memorial. I hope it will be a pleasure to you, as it daily is to me, for you made it possible. Mr. Bacon's work is charming, & the new vestibule makes a most appropriate setting for the Whistler Stela. The photograph was taken before the marble base board was set in place, & it fails on that account to give an adequate picture - & also because no proper lighting was at hand for the camera.
