"State the kind of crops raised and the condition of the same; whether the freed people work for monthly wages or a portion of the crop and the customary amount of either."
The crops in my Dist. consist of Cotton & Corn, a ful Corn crop has been raised but Cotton will be about 1/3 or 1/4 of a crop, and I fear the f.m. will not even save that little- about 1/2 of them work for shares of the crop- 1/2 and feed themselves or 1/3 and rations- wages very from $12 to 20 specie - for men and $8 to 12. for women.

"Include in your Report the operations of the State laws as applied to freed people, with special reference to the Apprentice Law, Vagrant Law, and Law regulating labor."
The Civil Courts have not been in cession this fall, and the state laws in regard to labor, apprentices or vagrants, are not executed at all.

"Report the difficulties you labor under in the performance of your duties and how the same may be remedied."
