| Commencing January 1867. Montgomery County. | Unknown | H.M. Kerr, white. | Murdered while going with his wagon to the Gin. Two persons arrested by Sheriff on suspicion, but after little or no investigation they were turned loose. |
|   | Sanders, white, and two sons. | Davenport, white | Murdered while talking with the old man Sanders. When the Sheriff attempted to arrest them, they resisted but were finally taken and locked in jail. In the night the elder son attempted to escape but was shot, still he succeeded in making his escape. A mob then hung Father and the younger son to a tree. The elder son was captured the next day and also hung. All this near Montgomery, Montgomery County. |
