Taylor, Charles. (White)
A gang of desperadoes hailing from [[strikethrough]] Guadalupe [[/strikethrough]] De Witt Co. came in town in search of Taylor who was a horse thief and murderer; found him sitting near the door of Mr. Crows store, and although there were a number of bystanders around, fired at him on sight endangering the lives of many innocent persons, and in fact wounding two men, father and son; the father slightly, the son mortally. Taylor who received 17 balls and buck shot fell dead instantly at the feet of two ladies who were trading in the store. A comrade of Taylor's named James Sharp was captured. These men who [[strikethrough]] had [[/strikethrough]] said they had a warrant for Taylor acted like a set of savages and threatened the lives of some of the citizens who came up to see what they were doing. I learn from good authority that this gang killed their
