| 1868 March 13. | White A.C. Reed | White Wm. Milligan | Manslaughter. Milligan while intoxicated without any known provocation took a plank & commenced breaking the windows in Reed's Grocery, saying at the same time, "Perhaps you don't like this."  Whereupon Reed immediately took a revolver & shoot Milligan twice.  Milligan has since died of the wounds.  Reed was released by the Justice, upon preliminary examination subject to indictment by District Court. |
| March 13. | White Peter Coleman | White Peter Milstead | Manslaughter.  Upon preliminary examination held by the Justice, in bond of $5000.00 to answer to an indictment by the Grand Jury of the District Court. |
| March 13. | Colored John Avery | White J.Q Blackshire | Murder: Blackshire killed the freedman without any provocation whatever, according to the best information I can obtain and immediately took flight for parts unknown.  He will be immediately arrested and dealt with, as soon as his whereabouts can be ascertained. |
