State of Texas vs H.H. Frost I was called upon yesterday evening to attend the freedman Baylass. I found him shot in the right thigh, he had lost a good deal of Blood & was then bleeding freely. The flow of blood my son and myself arrested easily the ball entered the thigh in front and [[strikethrough]] passing [[/strikethrough]] passed immediately downwards & backward passing out on the posteal portion of the thigh just above the possleteal space. I do not think the would mortal & think he will recover I found the patient upon the place cultivated by Mr. William Kendall in Fort Bend County Texas sd J.R Pettus Sworn to & subscribed in open court 29th May 1867 (sd) Jno. H. Hand J.P. State of Texas vs. H.H. Frost Doctor Thompson states that he knows nothing about the affair he was called upon to visit the patient & went but Doctors Pettus had gotten there before him & dressed the wound.
