I am as heretofore busy in settling claims between employer and freedman and approving contracts. I have been absent half of time during the Month of March in Leon County attending to the [[??]] of the Office there.

"State the number of Troops at your Post and the necessity for the same; whether or not the freed people would be secure if they were removed; in other words will the civil authorities protect them and give them justice; &c., &c."

No troops at this place. The civil authorities try to do their duty.
