"Report the disposition and feeling of the white people towards the freed people, as expressed by words and actions."

The feeling of the White people toward the colored remain about the same as previously reported, there is no perceptible change

EDUCATION.

"Report the feeling upon the subject of education; what steps have been taken to promote the same; what efforts the freed people are making in that direction, and in what manner they may be assisted, &c."

There is a desire for education existing among the colored people that can not easly be obliterated, they think that if they could only read and write the goal of their ambition would be reached, At present the freedpeople are taken no steps in regard to education, they can not, they are too poor, and will be barely able to support themselves until this years crop is harvested,

I am informed by Miss Butter the teacher that out of the 33 pupils she has, only about two thirds of them are able to pay their tuition, she states that they are not able, that it is utterly impossible for them to pay even at the reduced schedule
