Visiting schools, plantations, and the District Court. Absent from the office ten days on an inspection of crops. Office hours from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. 

"State the number of Troops at your Post and the necessity for the same; whether or not the freed people would be secure if they were removed; in other words will the civil authorities protect them and give them justice; &c., &c."

No troops at this station, but there is a great necessity for their presence here. The Civil Authorities do not protect the Union people and the Freedpeople and give them justice. The juries of the County render their verdict in violation of every principle of law, and justice A more corrupt state of public opinion could not be conceived!
