Austin, Texas,

Sir,
In compliance with Circular Letter, dated Headquarters, Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, State of Texas, Galveston, December 31, 1865, I have the honor to submit the following Report for the month ending April 30th, 1868: Since my last there has been but little variation in my duties and nothing new of importance to report none of those terrible outrages which so often slain the records of every county in Texas have occurred in my Sub district during the present month_ Both the Planters and Freedmen are busy in the collection of their crops and up to the present time their is strong appearance that neither their labor or their hopes will be in vain. The Freedmen are doing very well. they are nearly all at work well behaved peaceable and how a biding and deserve more praise than they will generally obtain credit for
