Corn, & cotton- Heavy rains, within the present week, have made another overflow, in Red River, anything but unlikely, heat the present time I bellive it is bank full, but on a stand still.
An immense number of young Grass-Hoppers, cover the ground on different plantations, as yet know of no very serious advantage done by them, as they are feeding on grass, and Burs. I apprehend that when they become grown, they will make destruction upon the crop. A majority, labor for a portion in the crop, I would respectifully refer to Reports, for Feby and March 1868.

"Include in your report the operations of the State laws as applied to freed people, with special reference to the Apprentice Law, Vagrant Law, and Law regulating labor.'

“Report the difficulties your labor under in the performance of your duties, and how the same may be remedied.”

An application, for the authority to be given me “to employ a clerk from June 1st to 16th of July, at $45.00 per month”, Is forwarded from this office. I would respectifully request that it be granted.
