   "Report the disposition and feeling of the white people towards the freed people, as expressed by words and actions."
                    The Radical Secessionists express the most inveterate hatered for the freed people by word if they had a good chance of not being detected, they would deal harshly with them, This feeling is confined to that class of extremists, which are greatly in the majority.



                      EDUCATION.
   "Report the feeling upon the subject of what steps have been taken to promote the same; what efforts the freed people are making in that direction, and in what manner they may be assisted, so."
                       The centiments of the white people are against educating the freed people.  There has been but little done within the last three months in regard to education, from the fact that the freed men have no money with which to pay the teachers. A cannot say they are not making any efforts towards education.  They may be assisted by furnishing teacher houses +c +c 
   The freed people mad[[made?]] but little last year (1867) and now they have seriously enough means to live on, consequently they can do nothing in the way of education.
