I know of nothing more on the part of the government if it is not able to keep troops at all this station
I can complain of no Bureau [[strikethrough]] gent [[/strikethrough]] agent except N H Ranalett at Bryan City whos actions are as clear to you as to myself. If the freedmen in my district should gather together and attempt to do a wrong. All at one word could stop them. Where a Sub Commissioner does his duty the freedmen have confidence in him and they will obey all that he may say to them and they think it all wright, but where he is constantly doing them wrongs they very correctly consider him the worst enemy they have instead of being their friendly advisor in all instances.
